Delete your account in the app
If you still have access to SteelSet, the fastest way to delete your account is through the built-in account deletion flow.
To complete deletion:
- Open SteelSet.
- Open Settings.
- Go to the Danger Zone.
- Select Delete account.
- Review the warning and confirm permanent deletion.
The deletion flow removes the account rather than merely deactivating, disabling or freezing it.
Request deletion without access to the app
You do not need to reinstall SteelSet in order to request deletion.
If you cannot access the app, send an account deletion request to SteelSet Support using the email address associated with your SteelSet account whenever possible.
Include enough information for us to identify the account you want deleted. We may need to verify account ownership before completing a deletion request in order to protect accounts from unauthorized deletion.
Verification will be limited to what is reasonably necessary to identify the account and confirm that the request is legitimate.
What is deleted
When the SteelSet account deletion process completes successfully, the current deletion workflow is designed to remove account-associated data including, as applicable:
- Firebase Authentication account data;
- cloud-synchronized workout sessions;
- cloud deleted-session records;
- the account's public Community profile;
- profile avatar media;
- Community posts authored by the account;
- Community photo media associated with posts authored by the account;
- Kudos given by the account and related Community notification records where applicable;
- notifications owned by the account;
- account-scoped block records;
- reports submitted by the account;
- Community policy-acceptance records associated with the account;
- local SteelSet user data removed by the completed in-app deletion flow on that device.
Account deletion is intended to remove both the SteelSet account and the associated user data covered by the deletion process.
Information that may need to be retained
Certain limited information may need to be retained after deletion when reasonably necessary for legitimate safety, security, fraud-prevention, moderation, dispute-resolution or legal purposes.
For example, a Community report created by another user may need to remain available where necessary to investigate abuse, preserve moderation integrity or protect Community users.
Any such retention is limited to information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose and is not treated as an active public SteelSet Community profile or post.
Additional details are available in the SteelSet Privacy Policy.
Local device data
SteelSet also stores certain information locally on the device.
The completed in-app deletion flow removes SteelSet user data covered by that flow from the device on which deletion is performed.
If you previously used SteelSet on another device, locally stored application data on that other device may remain until the app's local storage is cleared or the application is removed from that device.
Locally stored nutrition information is not part of SteelSet's cloud workout synchronization and may therefore need to be cleared from each device where it was stored.
What happens after deletion
Account deletion is permanent.
After your SteelSet account has been successfully deleted:
- you will no longer be able to sign in to that SteelSet account;
- deleted cloud workout history cannot be restored through that account;
- Community content removed through the deletion process will no longer be available as active content from that account;
- you will need to create a new account if you later want to use SteelSet account-based features again.
